Mollie Brawner

Nov. 18, 2007

Final Stats

SAN ANTONIO, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' women's basketball team could not find the range from the field or the free throw line and fell to Trinity, 70-51, on Sunday evening at Sams Gym in San Antonio.

The Cowgirls hit just 21-of-64 shots in the game for 32.8 percent shooting and for most of the game Trinity was well over the 50 percent mark. The Cowgirls did not help themselves at the free throw line either as they made just 4-for-12 in the game.

Junior Mollie Brawner again led the Cowgirls with 21 points off the bench, but she was the only Cowgirl to score more than seven points in the game.

Trinity opened the game with an 8-0 run, but the Cowgirls responded with 10 straight points to take a 10-8 lead with 13:36 to go in the half. The lead was short lived as Trinity hit a 3-pointer the next possession and never trailed again. The Tigers closed the half on a 23-7 run to lead 36-20 at the break.

Kristen Prato Matthews led four Trinity players in double figures with 14 points.

HSU (1-1) will be off until Dec. 1 when it hosts LeTourneau in its conference opener at the Mabee Complex.
