KERRVILLE, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' women's basketball team used a 38-12 run in the middle of the second half to break away from Schreiner in a 102-71 Thursday night in American Southwest Conference action in Kerrville Thursday night. Melissa Contrucci had a season-best 27 points on 13-of-16 shooting and Sarah Hauk had a career-best 13 points to pace the Cowgirls, who shot 58.6 percent in the game. Laci Walker added 13 points and Lyssa Dennard scored 11. HSU led only 42-34 at the break, but had a 60-point explosion in the second half. It was the highest scoring half of the season for the Cowgirls. Liberty Liesman led Schreiner with 19 points and Monica Enriquez and Lynn Stow added 11 points. The Cowgirls improved to 17-4 on the year and to 15-3 in ASC action and Schreiner fell to 5-17 overall and 5-13 in league play.
