Final Stats

ABILENE, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' women's basketball team continued its roll with a 76-29 win over Sul Ross State and moved into a first-place tie in the American Southwest Conference West Division Thursday night at the Mabee Complex.

The Cowgirls came out in the second half and dominated the game, allowing the Lady Lobos only 11 points. HSU's defense limited Sul Ross State to 19.6 percent in the game and HSU won the battle of the boards 59-30.

HSU had four players in double figures, with Melissa Henley recording a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds. Shelby Hodges, Lyssa Dennard and Jamie Jones all added 10 points. Sul Ross State was led by Danielle Furr with 10 points.

The win was the Cowgirls 13th in a row, but it may have been costly as junior point guard Sarah Hauk went down with a knee injury.

Hardin-Simmons is 19-2 on the year and 17-2 in league play. Sul Ross State fell to 1-20 overall and 1-17 in conference play. HSU hosts Howard Payne in a pivotal game on Saturday at the Mabee Complex at 1 p.m.
