ABILENE, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' women's basketball team won its 46th straight game at the Mabee Complex against an American Southwest Conference foe with a 78-57 win over Texas Lutheran, Saturday afternoon.

Both teams started the game cold and was tied at 22 just three plus minutes before halftime, but Lauren Harris hit five straight points and Lyssa Dennard scored six in a row to give the Cowgirls a 33-22 halftime lead.

The Cowgirls continued the run to 20-2 making it 42-24 at the 16:28 mark of the second half. Freshman Melissa Henley led the Cowgirl effort with 16 points. Lauren Harris and Veronica Jones added 14 and 13 points respectively.

Texas Lutheran was led by Kendra McGuire's 22 points, including five 3-pointers. Sara Kainer added 12 points and 11 rebounds.

HSU improved to 19-2 overall and 9-1 in ASC West play. Texas Lutheran fell to 10-11 and 4-6. The Cowgirls return to action Thursday at Mary Hardin-Baylor.
