ABILENE, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' women's basketball team won its 45 straight game against an ASC opponent at the Mabee Complex, with a 104-49 rout of Schreiner on its home floor, Thursday night in Abilene.

The Cowgirls rolled to a 57-20 halftime lead behind a tenacious defense. Diana Martinez, who had the Cowgirls' first triple-double in school history on Thursday, almost recorded the same feat Thursday with 20 points, 11 steals and seven rebounds. She also added four assists in just 19 minutes of action. She had 10 steals in 12 minutes of action in the first half.

The Cowgirls substituted liberally in the game as all 13 players saw action in the first half. Lyssa Dennard scored a career-best 19 off the bench and seniors Lauren Harris (11) and Veronica Jones (10) each scored in double figures.

HSU forced 42 turnovers and had 32 steals in the game. Schreiner shot just 27.7 percent for the game. Tracy Castillo had 15 for the Mountaineers.

HSU improved to 18-2 on the year and 8-1 in ASC West play. Schreiner is now 0-19 overall and 0-9 in league play.

The Cowgirls will play Texas Lutheran at 1 p.m. at the Mabee Complex.
