Cowgirls Win 34th Straight At The Mabee Complex

ABILENE, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' second-ranked women's basketball rolled to its 17ths straight win to start the season with an 82-62, American Southwest Conference West Division win over Texas Lutheran, Saturday afternoon at the Mabee Complex.

Senior Kendra Anderson had 22 points and nine rebounds to pace a balanced Cowgirl attack. Diana Martinez added 16, Keila Remmele had nine and Lauren Harris, Veronica Jones and Laura Ricci all had eight points each.

The Cowgirls led 45-31 at the break and pushed the lead to as many as 25 points. The Cowgirls had 10m players play more than 10 minutes in the game and they shot 52.9 percent from the field and outrebounded the Bulldogs 40-29.

Texas Lutheran was led by Katrina Rathburn's 19 points.

Hardin-Simmons extended its winning streak to 34 straight at the Mabee Complex, which is the longest home court winning streak in the nation. HSU is now 17-0 and 7-0 in conference action. Texas Lutheran fell to 5-13 and 2-5.

HSU returns to action Tuesday in the Kiwanis Shootout against cross-town rival McMurry. Game time is slated for 5:30.
