Cowgirls Win Sixth Straight

ABILENE, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' women's basketball team won its sixth straight game with a 87-44 American Southwest Conference win over Concordia-Austin, Saturday afternoon at the Mabee Complex in Abilene.

The Cowgirls sprinted out to a 23-7 lead and were never challenged. 14 of the 15 Cowgirls that suited up for the game played double digit minutes and it was a balanced attack.

Jamie Jones had 14 points off the bench to pace the Cowgirls and Sarah Haul continued her strong play at point guard with 10 points, five rebounds, four assists and three steals in just 19 minutes of action.

The Cowgirls shot 50 percent for the game and outrebounded the Tornados 48-35. HSU also forced 24 turnovers and limited CUA to 27 percent shooting.

Kassandra Bills led Concordia-Austin with 22 points, eight rebounds and six steals.

HSU moved to 13-2 on the year and to 11-2 in ASC play. Concordia-Austin fell to 6-10 overall and 5-8 in league play. HSU plays at Schreiner University on Thursday.
