ABILENE, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' women's basketball team seems to be hitting its stride and it is perfect timing for the Cowgirls as they will play McMurry and Howard Payne, two nationally ranked teams this week, with the ASC West lead on the line.

Hardin-Simmons rolled to a 105-42 win over Texas Lutheran in American Southwest Conference action at the Mabee Complex on Saturday evening to win its eighth straight game.

The Cowgirls were never threatened against the winless Bulldogs. The Cowgirls substituted liberally and 13 players played 12 or more minutes. Every Cowgirl scored in the game.

Senior Lyssa Dennard scored 18 points to lead the Cowgirls and she also grabbed six rebounds, had four assists and three steals in 19 minutes of work. She recorded the 1,000th point of her career on a baseline jumper early in the second half.

Laci Walker and Rachel Cisneroz had 11 points each and Kristen Harris and Melissa Contrucci added 10 points each.

HSU shot 59.2 percent in the game and committed just seven turnovers, while forcing 24 by the Bulldogs. TLU shot just 32.1 percent.

It was the first time the Cowgirls had topped the 100-point mark since the 2005 season against Louisiana College.

HSU is now 13-2 on the year and 11-1 in ASC West play. TLU fell to 0-17 overall and 0-13 in the league. HSU plays at crosstown rival McMurry on Monday at 5:30 p.m.
