ABILENE, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' women's basketball team won its seventh straight game with an 82-50 American Southwest Conference win over Sul Ross State, Saturday afternoon at the Mabee Complex. The Cowgirls ran out to a 37-19 halftime lead and never looked back. The Cowgirl starters came out four minutes into the second half. Melissa Henley led the Cowgirls with 12 points in 23 minutes. Lyssa Dennard added 10 and every Cowgirl on the roster got in the scorebooks. Morgan Johnson finished with 10 points to lead Sul Ross State. Hardin-Simmons is now in a three-way tie for first place in the ASC West. The Cowgirls improved to 12-1 overall and 10-1 in league play. Sul Ross State fell to 2-11 overall and 2-9 in conference action. HSU will travel to Austin to take on Concordia on Thursday at 5:30 p.m. |
