Jan. 2, 2003 ABILENE, Texas - Hardin-Simmons's women's basketball team rolled to its eighth straight win and the Cowboys dropped their sixth straight game in American Southwest Conference crossover action, Thursday night in Marshall. All-American Kendra Anderson had 27 points to lead the Cowgirls to a 66-50 win. The Cowgirls jumped to a 26-4 lead and never were challenged thereafter. In the men's game the Cowboys played the Tigers close for 30 minutes then senior forward Bryan Conover went to the bench in foul problems and eventually fouled out with seven minutes to go and the Cowboys faltered down the stretch. Jordan Clower led the way with 17 points. Both teams return to action Saturday at LeTourneau, beginning at 1 p.m. |
