Lehman Named Academic All-American

ABILENE, Texas - Hardin-Simmons men's tennis player Roy Lehman has been named a College Division Academic All-American by ESPN The Magazine and the College Sports Information Director's of America.

Lehman, a junior from Vernon, also earned first-team all-district VI honors in the at-large division, which encompasses a list of 15 sports that are not in another category. Lehman sports a 4.0 GPA as a biology/pre-med major. He also is a standout on the tennis team that won its fifth straight American Southwest Conference title this season.

The honor is awarded to players that play in at least 50 percent of the contests and have a GPA of 3.2 and is voted on based on academic and athletic credentials. District VI is comprised of Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, New Mexico, Louisiana and Mississippi. The College Division is all levels outside of Division I.

He is the 16th Hardin-Simmons athlete and the fourth this year to be named an Academic All-American by CoSIDA.
