PORTLAND, Oregon-The No. 2 seed duo of Mitch Aston and Mark Plowman fell to No. 1 seed Fifield/Scott of Trinity in the ITA Regional doubles final this past weekend. Aston and Plowman played a hard fought match before Trinity took over and won 8-6. The duo opened the tournament with a win over the Trinity team of Schaefer/Stone 8-2, then beating Howard Payne's Hembree/Kiser 8-3. The HSU doubles team never let in, defeating Whitman's Changstrom/Gamble 8-5 and then No. 7 seed Parker/Rubenstein of Trinity 8-6. The Cowboys had a great tournament, finishing within the top two teams of the tournament. |
