PORTLAND, Ore. - Hardin-Simmons' No. 1 doubles team of David Wu and Brad Grace advanced to the finals of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association, before falling in a tiebreaker in the finals.

HSU did not fare as well in the singles draw as only one player advanced past the round of 32. Wu, Grace and Roy Lehman each won first round matches before falling in the second round. Lehman had won a play-in match into the main draw.

Freshman Matt Tolley defeated No. 15 O. Suagee of Linfield College in the first round and then advanced to the quarterfinals with a win over A. Cobb of Howard Payne. He fell in the quarters to M. Larimore of Pacific Lutheran.

In the backdraw of the main bracket, Tanner Reed advanced to the semifinals, before falling. He defeated teammate Chris Palmatier in the quarterfinals. Wade Morgan won a match in the backdraw as well.

In doubles action Kidd and Tolley lost in the first round, Lehman and Morgan won one match and Palmatier and Reed Stafford won one match before falling.
