ABILENE, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' men's tennis team fared well in its first action of the season at the Wal-Mart Invitational hosted by Abilene Christian University on September 10-11 in Abilene.

David Wu placed third in flight one singles. Brad Grace finished seventh and Roy Lehman finished in seventh place.

In flight two, freshman Wade Morgan advanced to the finals, but fell 6-4, 6-4 to Knoblock of Tarleton State. Wes Kidd placed fifth and Chris Palmatier was seventh.

Freshman Tanner Reed won the flight three singles over teammate Matt Tolley. Reed Stafford placed third in flight four singles and Joel McDowell won the consolation bracket.

Wu and Grace won flight one doubles. Lehman and Morgan placed second in flight two doubles. Travis Dixon and Stephen Hillard placed third in flight four doubles.
