Final Stats

Hardin-Simmons' men's tennis team extended its American Southwest Conference winning streak to 46 with a 7-0 win over host McMurry on Friday afternoon.

The No. 23 Cowboys won four of the six singles matches in straight sets and sophomores Wade Morgan and Tanner Reed won their matches in three sets. All-American David Wu won his match at No. 1 singles for the Cowboys winning 6-3, 6-2 and also won at No. 1 doubles. Dusty Oglesby, Wu's doubles partner, won his match 6-3, 6-1.

Wes Kidd, who was playing No. 3 singles dominates his match winning 6-0, 6-1. Ryan Waters, who was playing in the sixth spot also won his in straight sets with scores of 6-3,6-1.

Morgan came back from losing the first set 2-6 to win the next two sets 6-3 and 10-6 in the third set tie-breaker. Reed, who also went into three sets, won the first set 6-3, then lost 4-6, but won in the tie-breaker 10-5.

HSU improved to 3-0 on the year and 3-0 in American Southwest Conference play. The Cowboys will host Southwestern tomorrow at the Streich Tennis Center. The match will start at 10 a.m.
