TYLER, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' men's tennis teams fared well at the American Southwest Conference Individual Tournament in Tyler over the weekend. Brad Grace and David Wu, who sat out the singles tournament, won the doubles competition with wins over the No.1 and No. 2 seeds. In the semifinals they defeated Thomas Blalock and Drew Brooks of Mississippi College, 8-3, and defeated second-seeded Greg Jones and Patrick Painter of UT-Tyler. John Roaten and Roy Lehman advanced to the semifinals of Flight 1 doubles losing to Jones and Painter, 8-3. Darren Grace and Wes Kidd teamed to win the Flight 2 Doubles. They defeated top-seeded Rob Anguiano and Adam Webb, 8-6, in the finals. In flight 1 singles, John Roaten and Roy Lehman both advanced to the quarterfinals before falling and Wes Kidd lost in the first round. Kidd did bounce back to win the consolation bracket with four straight wins. In flight 2 singles, Darren Grace lost in the round of 16 but bounced back to win the consolation bracket with four straight wins.
