Final Stats

ABILENE, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' men's tennis team won its 44th straight American Southwest Conference match with a 9-0 pasting of Sul Ross State, on Friday evening at the Abilene Country Club.

The Cowboys swept the doubles with Ryan Waters and Doug Eckstein winning 8-2 at No. 1 and Wade Morgan and Derek Baxter rolling 8-1 at No. 2. SRSU defaulted at No. 3.

In singles, HSU had little trouble closing out the match. Wade Morgan won at No. 1 singles with a 6-1, 6-4 win over Randy Garsea. Logan Neal and Derek Baxter wrapped up the win at No. 5 and No. 6 with 6-0, 6-0 wins. HSU won the remaining three matches in a pro set.

HSU hosts Concordia-Austin on Saturday at the Streich Tennis Center.
