ABILENE, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' men's tennis team rallied to defeat Temple College, 4-3, in the first action of the spring season for the Cowboys, Tuesday afternoon at the Streich Tennis Center.

HSU's David Wu and Brad Grace won at No. 1 doubles 9-7 over Aiden Fitzgerald and Eric White. The Cowboys' Chris Palmatier and Wade Morgan prevailed at No. 2 doubles to give HSU the doubles points. Reed Stafford and Bjorn Subia fell to Daniel Quinones and Jeremie Duriu, 8-4 in No. 3 singles.

In singles action the two teams split the six matches. Grace, Roy Lehman and Wade Morgan won at No. 2, 5 and 6. Grace had to win a third set tiebreaker, 7-5, 4-6, 7-6 (8-4) to garner the win for the Cowboys.

The match counts as an official date of competition, but matches against junior colleges will not count for the overall team record.
