Nov. 2, 2005 ABILENE, Texas - Four members of the Hardin-Simmons men's soccer team have been named to the College Sports Information Director's of America (CoSIDA) College Division academic all-district team. Ryan Shaughnessy, Brad Barham, Chris Carroll and Nick Sager all made the team that is voted on by CoSIDA members around the district. District VI consists of teams from Oklahoma, Texas, Arkansas, New Mexico, Mississippi and Louisiana. The College Division consists of teams at the NAIA, NCAA Division II and NCAA Division III levels. Only 12 players were selected to the team and HSU had four of them. They will all go on to the national ballot for All-American honors. Chris Carroll was named a second-team All-American last season. Carroll carries a 3.85 GPA in Communications. He was one of four forwards named to the team. Shaughnessy is an education major and was named the goalkeeper on the team. Nick Sager was named to the team as a midfielder with a 3.63 GPA as a biology major. Brad Barham made the team as a defender with a 3.71 GPA. He is a pre-med major. The team is voted on based on both academic and athletic accomplishments. |
