Cowboys Fall In OT, 3-2

RICHARDSON, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' men's soccer team dropped an overtime thriller 3-2 to UT-Dallas in the semifinals of the American Southwest Conference's Championship Tournament, Friday evening at the UTD Soccer Complex in Richardson.

UTD got on the board in the fifth minute on an unassisted goal by Jason Hirsch. HSU tied the game in the 30th minute, when James Burton scored from Chris Carroll.

UTD went up 2-1 when J.D. Pomposelli scored in the 55th minute, but the Cowboys responded again with a Carroll goal in the 57th minute. The game remained scoreless the rest of the way and went into overtime.

Hirsch allowed UTD to advance when scored on a Pomposelli assist 4:17 in to overtime.

Ryan Shaughenssy took the loss in net for the Cowboys. Travis Boubel got the win for UT-Dallas.

HSU concludes its season with a 13-4-3 mark. UT-Dallas (13-7) will face Ozarks in the ASC Championship on Saturday.
