Cowboys Bow Out In Semis

RIChARDSON, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' men's soccer team ended its season with a 5-2 loss to top-seeded UT-Dallas in the American Southwest Conference Championship Tournament in Richardson on Saturday.

The Cowboys could not overcome the loss of junior goalkeeper, who injured his leg in the quarterfinal win over UT-Dallas. The Comets roared out to a 3-0 halftime lead and made it 4-0 in the 49th minute.

HSU got on the board in the 59th minute on an unassisted goal by Kyle Rampy. David Salas then scored on a penalty kick in the 80th minute to make it 4-2. UT-Dallas closed the scoring with a John Hicks goal in the 81st minute.

The Cowboys closed the 2004 campaign with a 11-7-2 mark. UT-Dallas improved to 14-4-2.
