Austin College Advances in ASC Tournament

ABILENE, Texas - Austin College advanced to the semifinals of the American Southwest Conference Championship Tournament with a 2-0 win over LeTourneau Friday at the Hardin-Simmons Soccer Complex.

The Kangaroos took control of the game in a five minute stretch. Aaron Pierce scored on an assist from Ryan Bielefeldt in the 41st minute. AC struck again in the 45th minute when John Martinez struck a ball by LU goalkeeper Willie Cloyd.

LeTourneau had control of the ball most of the first half and outshot AC 13-5 in the match, but the Kangaroos made good on two of the five shots.

LeTourneau finished its season with a 10-10-1 mark. Austin College will face Ozarks at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday in the first men's semifinal.
