Oct. 25, 2003 ABILENE, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' men's soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision to cross-town rival in a game that decided the championship in the American Southwest Conference West Division, Saturday afternoon at the McMurry Soccer Complex. The Indians scored the games only goal in the 69th minute when Rudy Irias scored on an assist from Craig Lay and McMurry was able to make it hold up. Hardin-Simmons had 10 shots in the game, but just one was on goal and Bret Erdmann knocked it away. The Cowboys fell to 13-3-1 overall and 8-1-1 in ASC West play. McMurry improved to 12-4-1 and 9-0-1 in ASC West play. Both teams will advance to the ASC Tournament at the East Champion in two weeks. |
