Cowboys Stay in Hunt

CLINTON, Miss. - Hardin-Simmons' men's soccer team remained in the hunt for a berth in the American Southwest Conference Tournament with a 2-0 win over Mississippi College, Friday afternoon in Clinton, Miss.

Junior Chris Carroll got the Cowboys on the board in the eighth minute. The game remained that way until freshman Kris Noel scored with three minutes remaining to ice the game.

Ryan Shaughnessy was perfect in goal, for the Cowboys, who were playing without ASC Player of the Year candidate David Salas, who out with an undisclosed illness.

HSU is one of eight teams fighting for six spots with just two weeks of league play remaining. The Cowboys moved to 8-6-2 on the year and 6-4-1 in ASC play.
