Cowboys Put Down TLU 3-0

ABILENE, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' men's soccer team stayed unbeated in ASC West play with a 3-0 win over Texas Lutheran on Senior Day at Shelton Stadium. This was the final home game for lone Cowboy senior Jeff Brooks. Freshman David Salas led the way with a goal and an assist.

The Cowboys scored first in the 16th minute on a penalty kick from sophomore Brad Barham. They would score again quickly when Brooks assisted a David Salas goal in the 26th minute. HSU held the 2-0 lead until the 87th minute when Ryan Flanigan scored on a Salas assist to put the Cowboys up 3-0.

Ryan Shaughnessy picked up the win with seven saves. HSU only outshot the Bulldogs 12-11. With the win HSU ups their record to 12-2-1 overall and 8-0-1 in ASC play, while TLU falls to 7-8, 2-5. Hardin-Simmons is in action again Tuesday at St. Mary's before a showdown for the ASC West title next Saturday against unbeaten McMurry.
