Oct. 17, 2002 ABILENE, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' men's soccer team defeated the University of Texas at Permian Basin 5-0 Thursday night at Shelton Stadium. Sophomore forward Chris Carroll scored two goals for the Cowboys during the 25th minute and 68th minute of the game. Sophomore Kyle Rampy, freshman Emory Stern, and sophomore Trevor Elza all scored one goal each. Junior Jeff Brooks and Stern added an assist to Elza's and Carroll's goals. Senior goalkeeper Charles Johnson had one save in 50 minutes of action. Freshman goalkeeper Dustin Holly saw 40 minutes of scoreless action. HSU moves to 4-2-1 in ASC play and 8-5-1 overall. The Cowboys will return to action Friday, October 25 when they host Concordia in American Southwest Conference action at Shelton Stadium at 8 p.m. |
