ABILENE, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' men's soccer team advanced to the American Southwest Conference Tournament with a 1-0 win over Schreiner, Thursday evening in ASC play at Shelton Stadium. Ryan Flanigan scored off a set play on an assist from James Burton after a Schreiner foul. The goal came in the 69th minute and the Cowboys were able to hold off the pesky Mountaineers, 1-0. Ryan Shaughnessy was stellar in goal for the Cowboys, pitching a shutout while recording nine saves. Ryan Wagner was equally as good for Schreiner, knocking away nine Cowboy shots. The win clinched a spot in the ASC Tournament for the Cowboys as they improved to 11-2-1 on the season and to 7-0-1 in ASC West play. Schreiner fell to 3-8-1, 2-4-0. |
