Oct. 8, 2004 RICHARDSON, Texas - Hardin-Simmons played UT-Dallas to a 2-2 tie in American Southwest Conference men's soccer action at the Comet Soccer Complex in Richardson on Friday night. David Salas got the Cowboys on the board in the 16th minute on a Ricky Matthies assist. UTD tied the game in the 42nd minutes. Daniel Arnold gave the Cowboys the lead right back a minute later. UT-Dallas tied the game in the 67th minute on a Petar Tomov goal. The defenses tightned the rest of the game and neither team could find the net in the final 43 minutes including overtime. The Cowboys are still at the top of the American Southwest Conference standings. HSU is now 7-3-2 on the year and 5-1-1 in ASC play. UT-Dallas fell to 6-4-2 overall and 4-0-2 in ASC play. HSU has 16 total points in the ASC race and UTD has 14. |
