ABILENE, Texas - Sophomore David Salas' goal in the 79th minute propelled Hardin-Simmons' men's soccer team to a 1-0 American Southwest Conference win over East Texas Baptist at Shelton Stadium on Friday night. HSU dominated the game outshooting East Texas Baptist 27 to 7. Salas had eight shots on the night, but it was his last that made the difference. It came on a pass from Chris Carroll. Ryan Shaughnessy was solid in goal, stopping both shots on goal for the Tigers. HSU improved to 7-2-1 overall and 5-0 in ASC action. East Texas Baptist fell to 3-4 overall and 1-4 in conference play. HSU will host LeTourneau at 4 p.m. on Saturday. |
