Final Stats

ABILENE, Texas - Patrick Almond scored a goal in the 38th minute and the Hardin-Simmons defense made it hold up as the Cowboy soccer team defeated UT Tyler, 1-0, in American Southwest Conference action at the HSU Soccer Complex.

Almond scored off a scramble in front of the goal. After that it took a great defensive effort to keep the Patriots off the board. UTT outshot the Cowboys, 12-9, including 9-2 with the wind in the second half, but Justin Shepherd was up to the task in the pipes with seven saves.

The win was the third straight and the fifth in six games for the Cowboys, who improved to 5-4 on the year and 5-1 in ASC play. UT Tyler fell to 4-5-1 overall and 2-4 in league play. --- HSU ---
