AUSTIN, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' men's soccer team remained perfect in American Southwest Conference play with a 2-0 win over Concordia-Austin, Friday afternoon in Austin. The Cowboys dominated the play for most of the game and outshot the Tornados 18-5. Colt McKee scored the first goal for HSU in the 27th minute on an assist from Jorge Vega. HSU clinched the match in the 68th minute when David Salas found a streaking Esteban Arbariza for a goal to make it 2-0. Joshua Pringle got his first start in goal for the Cowboys since the season opener and pitched a shutout, stopping the lone Concordia shot on goal. HSU is now 7-2-0 on the year and 5-0-0 in conference play. The Cowboys will travel to Tyler for a game against the preseason ASC favorite Patriots at 4 p.m. Concordia-Austin fell to 3-6-0 on the year and 1-4-0 in league play. --- HSU Athletics --- |
