ABILENE, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' men's soccer team scored two goals within a minute in the first half and went on to defeat Concordia (Texas), 4-0, in American Southwest Conference action at the HSU Soccer Complex on Friday afternoon.

The Cowboys put together a beautiful combination off a free kick. Travis Simon found Ryan Flanigan in the middle, who flicked it to a streaking Colt McKee who buried it in net at the 17:@6 mark.

Less than a minute later after good pressure, Colin McDaniel received the ball in the middle and played it to Jorge Vega, who bulleted in his fifth goal of the season. Vega scored again in the 71st minute when Patrick Almond found him with a nice pass and Vega chipped one in past the keeper who had come out on the pass.

Zach Krawukski scored his first collegiate goal on a penalty kick at the 73:34 mark to round out the scoring.

HSU had a solid effort from its backline, as the Tornados only attempted only five shots in the game. The Cowboys had 29 shots and 14 of them were on goal.

The Cowboys moved to 4-4 overall and 4-1 in ASC play. Concordia fell to 2-6 overall and 0-5 in league play. HSU will play ASC preseason favorite UT-Tyler on Saturday at 4 p.m. --- HSU ---
