Sept. 26, 2003 KERRVILLE, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' men's soccer team remained undefeated in American Southwest Conference action as David Salas hammered home a hat trick to lead the Cowboys past Schreiner 3-1, Friday afternoon in Kerrville. Salas, a freshman from Abilene High, scored in the eighth, 28th and 53rd minutes to stake the Cowboys to a 3-0 lead. James Burton assisted on the first two goals. With the win the Cowboys push its winning streak to four straight games. The Cowboys' streak of holding opponents scoreless ended at 394 minutes, when Juan Carrasquillo scored in the 80th minute. Ryan Shaughnessy earned the win in goal with 60 minutes of action and Dustin Holly played the final 30. HSU is now 6-2 on the season and moved to 3-0 in ASC action. Schreiner fell to 2-4-1 and 1-1. HSU plays at conference preseason favorite Texas Lutheran on Saturday at 4 p.m. |
