Cowboys Fall To Schreiner, 2-0

ABILENE, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' men's soccer team lost 2-0 to Schreiner University in American Southwest Conference Soccer action, Friday afternoon in the inaugural game at the new HSU Soccer Complex.

Scott Huckabay scored for the Mountaineers in the 17th minute as he took a pass from Aaron Myers and shot it past Ryan Shaughnessy.

HSU put the pressure on in the second half but Schreiner's goalkeeper Nick Morrison held the Cowboys scoreless. The Mounaineers put the game away in the 89th minute when Tino Albarran fed Jeremy Reinhard for the goal.

HSU outshot Schreiner 19-13 but could not find the back of the net in the first game at their new stadium.

The Cowboys are now 4-2-1 and are 2-1-0 in conference play and will host Texas Lutheran on Saturday at 1 p.m. The Mountaineers improved to a 4-1-1 record and 3-0-0 in ASC action.
