ABILENE, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' men's soccer team rebounded from its first conference loss, with a 1-0 overtime win over LeTourneau, Saturday afternoon in Longview. The two teams played a hotly contested game that went to double overtime, before HSU freshman Travis Simon found the net at the 106:53 mark. The goal came from a scramble inside the box. HSU outshot the Yellowjackets 21-16 in the game and 10-4 on-goal. Justin Shepherd recorded the shutout in goal for the Cowboys with four saves, a day after being knocked out of the game with a hard hit in the head. The Cowboys improved to 3-4 overall and 3-1 in ASC play. LeTourneau fell to 3-5-1 and 1-3 in conference action. HSU returns to action next weekend when it hosts Concordia-Austin and league preseason favorite UT Tyler. |
