MARSHALL, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' men's soccer team dropped a 4-1 game to East Texas Baptist in American Southwest Conference action in Marshall. East Texas Baptist held a 1-0 lead at halftime, but the key to the game four minutes before halftime when HSU goalkeeper Justin Shepherd went up to catch a cross and came down hard on his head and had to leave the game. The Tigers then scored three more second half goals against freshman keeper Jason Mercer. Colin McDaniel scored the Cowboys only goal in the 72nd minute. HSU is now 2-4 on the year and 2-1 in league play. ETBU improved to 3-2-1 and 2-1 in league action. HSU plays at LeTourneau on Saturday. --- HSU --- |
