Final Stats

ABILENE, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' men's soccer team recorded its second straight shutout of a scholarship team with a 2-0 win over Houston Baptist, Monday afternoon at the HSU Soccer Complex.

Freshman Matt Lewis put the Cowboys on the board in the 35th minute with his second goal of the season on a beautiful play that saw David Salas send the ball into the box to Sager who one touched it to a streaking Lewis who hit it for the goal.

The Cowboys put the game away with a goal in the 73rd minute. Once again it was Salas who started the play, beating a double team and finding unmarked freshman Colin McDaniel at the top of the box for a goal.

Freshman goalkeeper Austin White continues his rapid improvement in goal for the Cowboys. He recorded his second straight shutout.

HSU will open American Southwest Conference play on Friday at Texas Lutheran.
