SAN ANTONIO, Texas - Hardin-Simmons lost a hard-fought match with Southwestern 1-0, Saturday evening in action at Trinity University in San Antonio. The Pirates scored the game winner in the 86th minute on a shot by Kevin Donovan. Ryan Shaugnessy was solid in goal for the Cowboys with eight saves. The Cowboys were outshot 24-17 in the game. David Salas led the attack with four shots. The Cowboys fell to 1-2-1 on the year. Southwestern improved to 2-1-2 on the year. HSU opens conference play on Friday when it hosts Mary Hardin-Baylor. |
