Cowboys Fall To Trinity in Overtime

ABILENE, Texas - David Salas scored a goal at the 84:59 mark to tie No. 4 Trinity, but the Tigers scored at the 96:34 in overtime to win the game 2-1 in the American Southwest Conference/Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Challenge, Friday evening in Abilene.

The Tigers scored its first goal when Brian Reaves hit a header off a long pass from Cullen Davies at the 59:46 mark.

The Cowboys had a couple of good scoring chances early in the game, but Matt Handy stood tall in goal with a diving save in the first half.

Senior midfielder Chris Carroll was solid on defense as he saved a goal and also had a diving header to clear a potential shot in close by the Tigers.

HSU fell to 2-1 on the season and the Tigers improved to 3-0. HSU will host Southwestern at 6 p.m. on Saturday.
