SALADO, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' men's golf team is in 10th place after one round of the Mary Hardin-Baylor Fall Invitational at the Mill Creek Country Club in Salado. The College of the Southwest leads the tournament with a 293, followed by Trinity (294), Mary Hardin-Baylor (299), LeTourneau and Texas Lutheran (300). UT-Tyler and McMurry are tied for 6th with a 302, Lubbock Christian is eighth and UMHB JV is ninth at 313. HSU was led by Chris Clifton's 76, which was good for 26th place. J.C. Eagle (77), Michael Weehunt (80), Chris Elliott (81) and Davey Davis (81) rounded out the Cowboy lineup. Travis Brown shot 89 playing as an individual. Matt Dietrick of the College of the Southwest, Michael Faterkowski of Texas Lutheran, Travis Holt of Trinity and Amory Droogsma of College of the Southwest shared the first round lead with 70s. The tournament concludes with 18 holes on Tuesday. |
