SEGUIN, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' men's golf shot a 294 and finished in sixth place at the John Bowmann Memorial Tournament at Starcke Park in Seguin.

Brad Leeper led the Cowboys with a three-round total of 220, one stroke better than teammates J.C. Eagle and Michael Weehunt. Eagle shot 69-75-77-220 and Weehunt improved every round with a 75-74-72--220. Sam Antony recorded his second 72 of the tournament. He shot 72-81-72-225. Brian Laing round out the lineup with an 89-76-79--244.

Texas Lutheran shot a 287 to rally for the team title. They won the event in a playoff over Tyler Junior College. Texas-Tyler was third, Mary Hardin-Baylor fourth and McMurry fifth. Blaine Weiterman of TJC shot 68-67-71-206 to win medalist honors.
