SEGUIN, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' men's golf team opened its season with a pair of solid rounds and are in a tie for sixth place in the 15-team John Bohmann Memorial Golf Tournament that is being played at the Par-72 Starcke Park in Seguin.

J.C. Eagle led the Cowboys with rounds of 69 and 75 and is in 13th place with his 144 total. Brad Leeper shot 72-75--147 in his first tournament as a Cowboy.

Michael Weehunt shot rounds of 75 and 74 for a 149 total. Sam Antony shot 72-81 and Brian Laing rebounded from an opening round 89 with a 76 for a 165 total.

Tyler Junior College leads the tournament with a 13-under 563. Blaine Weiterman of TJC shot 68-67 to lead the medalist race by three strokes.

The final round will conclude on Tuesday morning.
