BEAUMONT, Calif. - Hardin-Simmons golfer Chris Phillips started off his third round at the NCAA Division III Championships one-under through eight holes, but he played the next 10 holes 10 over en route to an 81.

Phillips, who had not shot higher than 77 all year heading into the NCAAs, has a three-round 79-79-81 -- 239. Only two players in the field are under par at the PGA of Southern California Golf Course in Beaumont, Calif.

Phillips will close out his career with a 12:20 PST tee time on Thursday.
