ANNA, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' men's golf team finished in sixth place at the American Southwest Conference Championships at the par-72 Hurricane Creek Country Club in Anna, Texas.

The Cowboys shot rounds of 318 and 314 on Tuesday and shot 315 on Saturday for a 947 total. Mary Hardin-Baylor won the tournament with a three-round 885, which was 10 strokes better than Texas Lutheran. UT-Tyler finished third at 909, UT-Dallas had a 931 total for fourth and McMurry finished fifth with a 937.

J.C. Eagle shot 79-78-75-232 to lead the Cowboys. Michael Weehunt shot 82-75-78, Brad Leeper went 81-81-79 for a 241 total, Brian Laing shot 79-80-84-243 and Dustin Minchew shot 79-86-83-248 for HSU.

Eric White of Mary Hardin-Baylor won the tournament with a two-under par 214. He had rounds of 73-70 and 71.

The Cowboys ended their 2007-08 campaign with this tournament and Weehunt and Eagle ended their careers with today's tournament.
