LOMPOC, California -- Hardin-Simmons' men's golf team finished 14th overall with a two-day, three-round composite score of 1012 at the CLU Kingsman Invitational held March 20-21. The Invitational was played at the par-72, 7,087-yard La Purisma Golf Course in Lompoc, California. University of Redlands won the team-title with three rounds of 308-305-313 to finish at 926, which were 17 strokes better than second place and tournament host California Lutheran. Mary Hardin-Baylor finished in fourth, two strokes behind University of La Verne, with a three round total of 954. The Cowboys had rounds of 343-337-332 to finish 14th. Michael Weehunt and J.C. Eagle paced the Cowboys shooting 252 overall. Weehunt had rounds of 87-81-84 while Eagle shot 86 and 87 the first day and then came back and fired a 79 in the third round. Davey Davis placed third on the team, two strokes behind Weehunt and Eagle, shooting a 254 with rounds of 90-82-82. Travis Brown's rounds of 83-87-87 were good enough for a 257 and Chris Clifton shot 87-94-93 to finish at 274.
