SEGUIN, Texas - Hardin-Simmons shot a 1-under 287 and stands in second place and three shots off the lead at the John Bohmann Memorial Invitational Golf Tournament, being hosted by Texas Lutheran at the par-72 Chaparral Country Club in Seguin.

Texas Lutheran leads the field with a four-under 284. UMHB is even at 288, UT-Tyler and Trinity each shot 3 over. McMurry came in with an even-par 300.

Freshman Ryan Salinas led the Cowboys with a 2-under 70. Texas Lutheran had two players, Michael Faterkowski and Alez Seydler, shoot a four-under on their home course to lead the medalist race.

Chris Phillips and Aaron Shipley each shot even par 72's for the Cowboys and Clint Wellhausen's 74 was the Cowboys throw away -score.

The field includes five of the top teams in the nation, including No. 10 Mary Hardin-Baylor, No. 19 Hardin-Simmons, No. 25 Trinity, No. 26 McMurry and No. 28 Texas Lutheran.

The two teams will finish with 18 holes on Tuesday.
