Cowboys Sweep All Conference Awards

RICHARDSON, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' football team won all five player of the year awards and nine players were named first-team All-American Southwest Conference in voting by the league's coaches.

Senior running back Lance Moore was named offensive player of the year, senior linebacker Brent Gailey earned defensive player of the year honors and junior kick returner Jared May was the special teams player of the year. Adam Hernandez was named ASC offensive lineman of the year and sophomore defensive end Reggie Robinson was defensive lineman of the year.

Moore led the league with 24 touchdowns and rushed for 1152 yards and 21 TDs. Gailey was the league's most intimidating player and had 87 tackles to lead the top defensive unit in the league. May averaged 30.8 yards and had two touchdowns on kick returns and was among league leaders with an 8.5 yard per punt return average.

Hernandez, a senior preseason All-American, led an offensive line that did not allow a sack by the first unit and led a dominating rushing game. He has allowed only one sack in his career. Robinson leads the league in sacks with 12, just one off the school record.

All five were named first-team All-ASC along with senior slotback Triandos Sherrard, senior tackle Garet Black, sophomore cornerback Will Galusha and senior cornerback Alex Hansen.

Cowboys on the second team included junior wide receiver Josh Howard, senior center Jarad Hale, junior quarterback Jordan Neal, senior defensive end Levi Pate, junior defensive tackle Eric Shults, and junior linebacker Anthony Thomas.

May at slotback and senior tight end Matt Moskosky were named honorable mention All-ASC.

Tom Mueller of Texas Lutheran was named coach of the year and T.J. Barber of Sul Ross State was named freshman of the year.
