RICHARDSON, Texas - Six members of the Hardin-Simmons football team were named to the American Southwest Conference All-ASC Football first team in voting by the league's 10 head coaches.

Senior Jared May was named to the first-team as both a slotback and kick returner. He was joined on the offensive first team by three offensive linemen - senior tackle Tye Conry, junior center Josh Knox and senior guard Aaron Terrell.

Senior defensive tackle Eric Shults and junior cornerback Will Galusha were named first-team on defense. Junior tackle Chris Jones, junior linebacker Rob Galusha and senior linebacker Anthony Thomas were named to the second team.

Senior wide receiver Matt Epperson and junior running back Quinton Jones were named honorable mention All-ASC.

Josh Kubiak of Mary Hardin Baylor was the defensive player of the year, Ty Sellers of McMurry was the offensive player of the year and P.J. Williams of Mary Hardin-Baylor was the special teams player of the year.

UMHB's Elex Reed and Chad Glover of East Texas Baptist were named co-defensive linemen of the year and Jeremy Pawelek of Texas Lutheran was named offensive lineman of the year. Sylvester Walker of Howard Payne was named ASC freshman of the year. Mike Redwine of Howard Payne was named the ASC coach of the year.
