Indianapolis - Hardin-Simmons' third -ranked football team has earned one of four first round byes in the NCAA Division III Football Championship and will play host to the winner of the Mary Hardin-Baylor and Trinity game, on Saturday, November 27 at noon.

The Cowboys are making their fourth trip to the NCAA Championships and their first since the 2001 season. HSU is 4-3 all-time in the NCAA playoffs.

HSU advanced to the NCAAs by winning the American Southwest Conference Championship with a 59-29 win over Texas Lutheran on Saturday.
