ABILENE, Texas -
Hardin-Simmons' football team will begin its fall workouts with a 3 p.m. practice, Monday at the HSU Practice Field.
The Cowboys return 16 starters from a team that was tri-champions of the American Southwest Conference last season. HSU was 8-2 a year ago.
HSU will open its season on Thursday, Sept. 9, at 6 p.m. when it hosts Sul Ross State in the first varsity night game at Shelton Stadium.
When the Cowboys hit the field they will see a new scoreboard at Shelton Stadium. The new board with LCD display was installed this past week, thanks to a contribution from the First National Bank of Abilene.
